About Your Pesona
If you're looking to experience Raja Ampat’s legendary underwater clarity and islandscapes without committing to a multi-day trip, Your Pesona is the right choice – a dependable speedboat built for smooth, efficient day charters that get you to the highlights when the light is best and the crowds are thin. With space for 12 guests, it’s ideal for small groups or families who want a private pace without the cost of a full liveaboard, and its shallow draft lets us weave through narrow channels near Wayag’s iconic peaks or pull up right at the beach in Arborek where the coral starts just offshore.
Your day starts early – 07:00 at the Waisai harbour slip, when the breeze is still light and the horizon over the Gam Islands begins to glow. From there, we set course for either Wayag, where the panoramic view from the lookout hill rewards the climb, or Arborek, home to a community-led manta cleaning station just off the jetty. You’ll have time to snorkel with reef sharks near the mangrove edges, photograph wobbegong sharks under the stilt houses, and swim through schools of batfish circling the submerged roots. The boat’s shaded rear deck keeps you cool between dips, and our crew has fresh water and soft drinks ready the moment you climb back onboard.
By midday, we’ve moved to a quieter bay – often Yellit or Saporkren – where the sandbars emerge at low tide and the water is calm enough for beginners to float without a life vest. Lunch is served on deck: grilled mahi-mahi, steamed rice, papaya salad, and tropical fruit, all prepared fresh that morning. There’s no galley kitchen on board, so meals are simple but satisfying, packed in eco-friendly containers to minimise waste. You won’t find cabins or showers here, but we time our stops so you can rinse off in the sea and dry in the breeze before the return leg.
In the afternoon, we head to a manta hotspot like Manta Sandy or the shallow flats near Kri Island, where mantas often glide within arm’s reach. Snorkeling here is drift-style – you float, the boat follows, and our guide points out the individuals by their unique belly markings. If you’re diving, we can adjust the route to include a single shore dive at Cape Kri, known for its 374 recorded fish species – but you’ll need to bring your own gear or rent locally before boarding. By 17:30, we’re heading back to Waisai, with the sun low over the limestone karsts and a chance to spot flying fish skimming ahead of the bow.
Your Pesona works best for travellers with limited time – perhaps you’re transiting through Sorong and have one full day, or you’re staying on a homestay in Waisai and want a guided step beyond the standard community tours. It’s not designed for overnight stays, and there’s no sleeping accommodation, so if you’re after sunrise dives or remote overnight anchoring, a liveaboard would suit you better. But for a full, well-paced day in Raja Ampat’s outer reefs, with reliable safety gear and local guides who know where the turtles nest, this boat delivers exactly what you need.
