About Ocean Angel
If you're looking for a sociable Komodo adventure with room to stretch out and reliable comfort, Ocean Angel fits the sweet spot between lively group energy and personal space. At 38 metres with up to 14 cabins, she carries 32 to 44 guests – larger than most private charters but still intimate enough that you won’t get lost in the crowd. Your days unfold across classic Komodo highlights, timed to avoid the busiest hours at Pink Beach or Padar Island, and the open-share 3D2N itinerary means you’ll travel with a mix of solo adventurers, couples, and small groups who value good rhythm over luxury frills.
Day one begins with arrival in Labuan Bajo, where you board in the early afternoon. By late afternoon, you’ll be at Kelor Island – a small green cone rising from turquoise water, perfect for your first snorkel or a short coastal hike before sunset drinks on deck. The next morning, Ocean Angel repositions overnight to Loh Liang, and you’ll rise early for Padar Island at first light. The hike takes about 30 minutes uphill, but the view over the three-bay coastline – especially when the sun hits the pinkish sand – is worth every step. After photos and a cool-down swim at nearby Long Beach, you return to the boat for lunch as she motors to Komodo Island.
The afternoon includes a guided ranger walk through the savannah to spot Komodo dragons in their natural habitat – a moment that always delivers a mix of awe and caution. From there, it’s a short hop to Pink Beach, where you can snorkel the coral-rich edges of the bay or relax on the blush-coloured shore. Late afternoon brings you to Manta Point, where consistent currents draw plankton and, in turn, manta rays. Snorkeling here is often the highlight – seeing these silent giants glide just below you, sometimes leaping clear of the surface – and Ocean Angel’s crew knows the best entry points based on tide conditions.
On day three, you wake at Taka Makassar, a sandbar that appears at low tide like a floating island in endless blue. It’s an ideal spot for a final swim or photo session. By mid-morning, you’re at Kanawa Island, with its shallow lagoon and vibrant reef – perfect for last-minute snorkeling. The boat returns to Labuan Bajo by late afternoon, giving you time to check into a hotel or catch an evening flight. With meals served buffet-style in the outdoor dining area, a chill space for reading or cards, and a sundeck for stargazing at night, Ocean Angel keeps the focus on the places, not the vessel.
This isn’t a minimalist yacht or a five-star boutique charter – it’s a dependable, well-routed Komodo platform built for real travel conditions. The cabins are functional and ventilated, the dive centre supports PADI-certified guests, and snorkeling gear is available for use. If you're travelling solo and open to sharing, there are regular departures with matched roommates. For families or groups wanting more privacy, booking two cabins gives you space without chartering the whole boat. The 3D2N open-share trip runs weekly, and spaces fill fastest from May to October – the dry season when Komodo’s trails are clear and the currents at Manta Point are strong but manageable.
