About Cajoma V
If you're looking for a balance between group energy and personal space on the water, Cajoma V fits just right — a 32-metre Phinisi with one private cabin, built for small charters or couples who want exclusivity without sacrificing access to the full boat experience. With capacity for 18 guests, it’s ideal if you're booking a shared departure and want to mix social moments with a quiet retreat at night. The single cabin is positioned for comfort, and the open deck layout means you’ll have room to stretch out whether you’re watching the sunrise over Padar or drying off after snorkeling with manta rays at Manta Point.
Your days unfold across a classic 3-day Komodo rhythm, starting with a late morning arrival in Labuan Bajo and a smooth sail to Kelor Island by mid-afternoon. The shallow waters here glow at sunset, especially when the tide drops and reveals sandbars you can wade across. By 6:30 PM, you’ll be on deck with a drink, watching the light fade behind the hills as the crew serves dinner. There’s Starlink internet if you need to check in with home, but once the sky fills with stars, you might not want to.
Day two begins early — 5:30 AM departure for Padar Island, where a short uphill walk delivers panoramic views across the rugged archipelago. After sunrise photos, you’ll head to Komodo Island for the ranger-led dragon walk through the savannah. These lizards are most active in the morning, and the trail here passes their favourite feeding spots near the beach. By midday, you’ll be cooling off at Pink Beach, where crushed coral gives the sand its soft blush tone. After lunch onboard, it’s a short hop to Manta Point for surface snorkeling — mantas often circle the cleaning stations just below the boat.
The final day focuses on open water and lighter currents. Taka Makassar, a sandbar that emerges at low tide, is perfect for relaxed swimming and underwater selfies. Then it’s on to Kanawa Island, where the reef slopes gently and you can float above parrotfish and clownfish without needing deep diving. The return to Labuan Bajo takes about two hours, arriving by mid-afternoon. With 18 guests max, the crew can manage gear, food, and timing efficiently — no long waits to board or eat.
Cajoma V runs shared 3D2N trips, which means you’re not locked into chartering the whole boat. That opens up the Phinisi experience at a more accessible price point, though you do trade some privacy. If you're travelling solo or as a pair, it’s a smart way to go. The boat carries full snorkeling sets and basic diving equipment — a real convenience if you’re flying light. The sun deck is wide and shaded, with mats and cushions, so whether you’re reading, napping, or chatting with new friends, there’s space to do it your way.
